The Czech Republic is set to implement a five-year experimental programme to treat problem gambling under the country’s anti-drugs policy alongside drug and alcohol addiction, while the country’s Ministry of Finance ponders a hike in gambling tax.

The government's anti-drugs policy has been amended to enable the new programme, with all references to drugs changed to “addictive substances and gambling” on a temporary basis until March 2019.
