A conference in Berlin backed by the Deutsche Lotto und Totoblock (DLTB) has seen a number of lawyers speak out against liberalising Germany’s online gambling market, claiming that there is no basis to challenge the current incarnation of the State Treaty on Gambling.

Speakers at last week's conference argued that the current regulatory framework has to be implemented consistently as to fail to do so will lead to a significant increase in gambling addiction in the country. The private operators that are fighting against the current Treaty are simply looking to earn billions at players’ expense, they claimed.
