Seen as a key part of the government's response to the O'Farrell Review into illegal offshore wagering, the investigation will assess the impact of betting restrictions imposed on the country's licensed sportsbooks.

The investigation aims to gauge whether regulatory restrictions such as bet, product and win or loss limits are causing players to seek out unlicensed sites to place wagers.
