South Africa’s parliamentary committee on trade and industry has adopted a redrafted National Gambling Amendment bill.
The redrafted bill only addresses a number of the issues covered by the comprehensive bill introduced earlier this year, with the committee stating that the more substantive issues should be referred to the next parliament.
The substantive issues relate to dog and horse racing, electronic bingo, betting on lotteries and online gaming.
