Iowa House sends sports betting legislation to Governor for approval

Legislation to authorise in-person and remote sports betting in Iowa has been sent to Governor Kim Reynolds for approval after passing the House Monday by a vote of 67 to 31.

The legislation enables the state’s licensed gambling facilities and pari-mutuel racetrack operators to apply for licensure as sports wagering operators, subject to an initial application fee of $45,000, renewable annually at a cost of $10,000.
