New Zealand parliament approves Racing Reform Bill

New Zealand’s Racing Reform Bill has passed its third and final reading in Parliament and is expected to come into force next week.

The bill is currently awaiting Royal Assent to be passed into law and will introduce race field fees and point of consumption tax charges on overseas betting operators from 1 July.

“The revitalisation of this industry is underway,” said Racing Minister Winston Peters.
