After six years of legal wrangling with Westdeutsche Lotterie GmbH & Co OHG (Westlotto), Germany’s Federal Supreme Court has passed judgment in favour of online gaming operator bwin, ruling that Westlotto cannot obtain injunctive relief against online gaming offerings.
In September 2004, Westlotto applied for an injunction against bwin International Ltd, seeking to prevent the company from “organising, mediating and advertising” sports betting, casino and lottery games in Germany.
