The Russian government has adopted amendments to the country’s gambling legislation to better regulate retail and online sports betting.
The bill was signed into law by President Vladimir Putin on 30 December and establishes a unified gambling regulator to oversee all sports betting activities.
The new regulator will be tasked with developing secondary regulations for sports betting and setting taxes and fees, as well as monitoring the market for illegal gambling operators.
