Lawmakers in Oklahoma will consider legislation to legalise sports betting this year after last year’s effort was overturned by the courts.
Last year’s effort was led by Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt, who agreed new tribal gaming compacts that would have authorised sports betting and house-banked games.
Those compacts were ultimately deemed invalid by Oklahoma's Supreme Court for allowing sports betting and house-banked games, which represent forms of gambling which have not been authorised by the legislature.
