Lawmakers in the German state of Schleswig Holstein have approved amendments to gambling legislation which include a tiered tax structure for online casino games and increased funding for addiction treatment services.
The amendments that were unanimously approved Wednesday (Jan. 26) are designed to increase consumer protection and adapt state law to the national State Treaty on Gambling, which came into force in the summer of 2021.
