Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot has proposed draft regulations to ensure that daily fantasy sports (DFS) contests are conducted fairly and that winners pay appropriate state taxes.
It comes after a number of bills to regulate DFS were introduced in this year’s legislative session, before the General Assembly adjourned in April without taking any final action.
Franchot's proposal would ban DFS game participation by residents under the age of 18, as well as employees, directors and contractors of fantasy sports operators. [...]
