Booming Games and Design Works Gaming secure Ontario licences

Booming Games and Design Works Gaming (DWG) have become the latest suppliers to secure approval to launch their online casino games in the Canadian province of Ontario.

The approval from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) enables Booming Games to distribute popular slots such as TNT Bonanza, Cash Pig, Buffalo Hold and Win, and The Wild Wings of Phoenix.

“We are thrilled to have obtained a full Ontario B2B gaming license, allowing us to expand in the fast-growing Canadian market,” said Booming Games chief commercial officer Frederik Niehusen. “Ontario is the next milestone of our strategy to expand in regulated markets after successfully entering Spain, Colombia, The Netherlands, and Denmark in 2023.”

With its licence approval, DWG will bring its portfolio of LuckyTap slot titles to the Ontario market.

Ontario’s regulated iGaming market generated turnover of CAD$17.23 billion (€11.73 billion) in the fiscal third quarter ended 31 December 2023, an increase of 49 per cent year-on-year.

Online casino gaming was the largest sector with wagers of $13.70 billion during the three month period, accounting for 80 per cent of the total.
