Sweden’s last remaining land-based casino is expected to close next year, with no further licences to be available beyond the end of 2025.
The Swedish government has decided to end the state monopoly on land-based casino gaming and delete the licence held by Svenska Spel, with operations at the country’s sole remaining Casino Cosmopol venue in Stockholm due to end before 1 January 2026.
