1XBET approved to launch online sports betting in Mexico

Online gaming operator 1XBET has secured an online sports betting licence in Mexico’s regulated iGaming market.

1XBET was granted licence approval by the country’s Dirección General de Juegos y Sorteos de la Secretaría de Gobernación (SEGOB), with players in Mexico able to place bets on a variety of sports via 1XBET.com.mx.

1XBET becomes the latest operator to enter the market following in the footsteps of Codere, Caliente, bet365, Logrand Entertainment Group’s Strendus, Aristocrat’s Mustang Money, and Televisa’s PlayCity brand among others.

“We are excited to start working in such a powerful and passionate market,” said 1XBET spokesperson Juan Pablo Estremadoiro. “We are sure that 1XBET is going to offer a lot to Mexican sports fans. This country has an amazing football culture, as well as other popular sports. The way the fans support their teams, it’s amazing and we expect a lot from working here.”

Estremadoiro said that the operator had ambitious plans for the region, with the Mexican launch acting as an “important step” in 1XBET’s plans to expand across Latin America.
