PokerStars is preparing to launch the New Jersey Championship of Online Poker (NJCOOP), the state’s largest online series with a guaranteed prize pool of $1.2m.

The tournament will take place between October 15th and 31st, featuring 43 events with entry fees ranging from $15 to $1,000 on the site.

It kicks off ahead of the PokerStars Festival New Jersey, a three-week tournament combining live and online play for consumers of all ability levels.

The NJCOOP features a number of tournaments over its sixteen days, including the $200,000 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event, which has a $500 buy-in and begins on October 30th, finishing the next day.

Daily online qualifiers to all Championship events are now underway, with buy-ins starting at $1 and including a $1,000 NL Hold’em High Roller Event with a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000.

“I’m so excited that PokerStars is bringing the Championship of Online Poker to New Jersey,” Team PokerStars Pro member Jason Somerville said. “It’s great that players in the region can experience playing in this prestigious festival and the buzz that comes with chasing big prize money and major tournament titles.”

“I’m looking forward to playing and streaming NJCOOP on Twitch in my hunt to win a title in its debut year.”

PokerStars is also giving NJCOOP players the chance to win one of twenty PokerStars Festival New Jersey main event seats, each worth $1,100. All players who take part in five tournaments, with buy-ins ranging from $100 to $350, will be entered into the All-in Shootout for a chance to win their seat.

NJCOOP Spin & Go’s will also offer tickets to a $200,000 tournament that runs October 30th and 31st, giving players the chance to turn a $2.50 buy-in into a $500 Main Event ticket.

Players must have a US Social Security number and be located in New Jersey to participate.
