GVC-owned sports betting brand bwin has expanded its sponsorship activities in the German football league with new agreements with three clubs in the 2. Bundesliga division.

bwin will serve as the exclusive betting partner of FC St Pauli, Union Berlin and Dynamo Dresden through to the end of the 2020/21 season.

The operator will benefit from brand exposure on stadium advertising boards at all three clubs, as well branding on club websites and social media channels. It will also offer the clubs' fans access to "money can't buy" experiences and hospitality during the season.

The three new partnerships add to the operator’s existing sponsorship agreements with second division club FC Cologne, Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund, and the third tier of German football, 3. Liga.

"After the Bundesliga and 3. Liga, we are now also in the 2. Bundesliga,” said bwin’s Stephan Heilmann, responsible for the DACH region. “With our extended and therefore unique commitment we want to offer the fans here real added value with a strong digital focus but also beyond.

“bwin has chosen to partner with the traditional clubs of St. Pauli, Dynamo Dresden and Union Berlin, because these three clubs in the second division add to our commitment to the 3. Liga and Borussia Dortmund.

“These clubs in 2. Liga, 3. Liga, and their fans have a passionate enthusiasm for football and this is exactly what we stand for with our brand bwin, which is why we feel at home and look forward to the new season with our new partners and their fans."
