Four online gaming operators have fallen foul of the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) after mobile advertising specialist Tapjoy placed their ads in content that was likely to appeal to people under the age of 18.

The ads for Annexio’s LottoGo EuroMillions app, MT SecureTrade’s Dunder gambling app, Paddy Power Betfair’s Betfair Bingo, and William Hill’s Vegas were displayed in the PEGI 7-rated Looney Tunes World of Mayhem app in February.

This prompted the ASA to file its own complaints, challenging whether the ads were appropriately placed.

All of the operators concerned acknowledged that their ads should not be placed in media where they are likely to be viewed by young people and said that the ads were placed by Tapjoy. They attributed the placement to an error on the part of Tapjoy and each stated that they have since terminated their relationship with the company.
