Betsson expands Peru presence with Paolo Guerrero partnership

Betting and gaming operator Betsson has signed up Peruvian professional footballer Paolo Guerrero as its exclusive global casino ambassador.
Aiming to further strengthen Betsson’s presence in Latin America, the deal will see the former Bundesliga striker, and record scorer for the Peruvian national team, promote Betsson’s online casino offering.
“At Betsson, we celebrate the agreement with Paolo Guerrero, which reinforces our leading position in the online entertainment industry in the region,” said Betsson commercial director for Latin America Andrea Rossi. “He has played an undisputed role in the recent history of international football, with legendary moments in his career. For us, it is an honour to start 2024 alongside him.”
Commenting on the new collaboration, Guerrero said: “I’m very excited to work hand in hand with Betsson, which is not only a leading company in Peru but is successfully expanding throughout Latin America.”
Guerrero’s notable achievements include leading La Blanquirroja to a runner-up finish at the 2019 Copa America, and playing a major role in Peru’s qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup after a 36-year absence from the tournament.
In addition, the striker scored the historic goal that crowned Corinthians as FIFA Club World Cup winners in 2012. Last season, he starred in Liga Deportiva Universitaria’s (LDU) Copa Sudamericana and Ecuadorian League titles.
Betsson recently become the main sponsor of three of Latin America’s most prestigious football clubs - Boca Juniors and Racing Club in Argentina and Atlético Nacional in Colombia.
Shares in Betsson AB (STO:BETS_B) were trading at SEK111.40 per share in Stockholm earlier Monday.
