Flutter Entertainment-owned FanDuel Group has been named as an official partner of professional women’s basketball team New York Liberty.
Under the partnership, the sports betting and fantasy sports operator will benefit from a marquee placement of its brand on New York Liberty’s home and away jerseys.
“We have a shared mission with FanDuel to make sports more exciting,” said New York Liberty chief operating officer Keia Clarke. “Teaming up with a leading gaming operator in the US allows us to reach new and existing fans who want to experience the very best of New York basketball both digitally and at live events.”
FanDuel Group CEO Matt King said: “We have been partners with the WNBA for several years and are incredibly proud to partner with the New York Liberty. New York is an iconic sports town and the home of FanDuel headquarters, so teaming up with the Liberty is an honor and a natural fit.
“Together, we will continue to bring New York fans and WNBA fans alike new and innovative ways to engage with the Liberty and its players.”
New York Liberty have the No.1 overall WNBA Draft pick this season with a virtual draft taking place later today. The WNBA confirmed earlier this month that the 2020 training camp and regular season has been postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
FanDuel has served as the official daily fantasy sports partner of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) since 2017.
