Four bidders remain for South Africa National Lottery licence

South Africa’s National Lotteries Board (NLB) has confirmed that four consortiums remain in the running for the country’s R$40bn (€2.9bn) third National Lottery licence which will commence operations in June 2015.

The National Lottery is run under a licence awarded by the Minister of Trade and Industry for a period of seven years.

NLB chairperson Alfred Nevhutanda said that four companies had paid their R$2.5m bid fee and submitted bid documents.
