Swedish gaming operator association Branschföreningen för Onlinespel (BOS) has blamed the breakdown of its proposed merger with gambling ethics council SPER on its prospective partner's refusal to accept its "individual-centric" consumer protection system.
Earlier today SPER announced that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with BOS in July this year would not lead to the two associations combining.
While it did not confirm the reasons why, it suggested that different approaches to consumer protection had proved insurmountable.
