Multi-year extensions continue long-standing partnerships with the national lottery operators in Slovakia and Mauritius

Brightstar Lottery has agreed a new deal to continue providing lottery technology and lottery-related services to Slovakia’s state-owned lottery operator TIPOS.

The new three-year contract runs until 2032 and continues a collaboration that stretches back more than thirty years.

Under its most recent contract with TIPOS, Brightstar implemented a new lottery central system, next-generation retailer terminals, and related support services.

The supplier will further support TIPOS’ expansion by delivering up to 2,500 new mobile lottery terminals, providing handheld devices to players across the lottery’s retail network.

“Brightstar continues to deliver important services and innovative solutions to help us grow lottery in Slovakia,” said Štefan Vyletel, chairman of the management board and CEO of TIPOS. “The success of our partnership funds a variety of good causes in Slovakia, including education and sports, and we are pleased to extend our agreement.”

Marco Tasso, Brightstar chief operating officer international and Italy operations, commented: “We are honored that TIPOS has entrusted us to serve Slovakia’s lottery for three decades. The handheld terminals we are deploying will enable TIPOS to convert offline instant ticket sales activities to online sales at the individual ticket level, while expanding the number of points of sale locations that players can purchase draw-based lottery games.

“We remain firmly committed to providing TIPOS and its players with exciting and innovative lottery solutions to help drive funding for good causes in Slovakia.”

Brightstar has also signed a multi-year contract extension this week with Lottotech, operator of the Mauritius National Lottery.

This agreement will see Brightstar deploy an advanced lottery central system to unlock further benefits for Lottotech, while the company will replace all lottery terminals with its latest hardware, the RetailerPro S2, which features Brightstar’s terminal application platform, OpenRetail.

“Extending Lottotech’s trusted relationship with Brightstar into its third decade through this latest contract underscores our shared commitment to long-term innovation and growth,” said Lottotech CEO Moorghen Veeramootoo. “Enhancing our central system marks a significant milestone for Lottotech, enabling greater agility, flexibility, and disaster tolerance as we enhance the player and retailer experiences while positioning our business for continued success.”

Tasso added: “As Lottotech’s exclusive retail lottery technology partner since its inception, Brightstar has continuously pushed boundaries to revolutionize products that benefit and complement the expectations of today’s modern lottery.

“We are excited to deliver our next-generation terminals and deploy our advanced central system to Lottotech, a natural next step in the evolution of Lottotech’s business critical operations.”
