Casino games developer Yggdrasil has confirmed the departure of a number of senior leaders and the arrival of Alex Haywood as managing director of its Polish business.
Haywood brings a wealth of expertise to lead Yggdrasil’s technological advancement and joins the company from Malaga-based Liquid Barcodes, where he has served as chief technology officer for the past 18 months.
Prior to that, he was CTO at Interactive Gaming Group and also spent a number of years at Evolution.
“I am thrilled to welcome Alex Haywood to the Yggdrasil team,” said Yggdrasil’s newly appointed CEO James Curwen. “His impressive track record, from his key roles at Evolution Gaming, Interactive Gaming Group, to his most recent position at Liquid Barcodes, highlights his profound understanding of the gaming landscape and his unmatched ability to drive innovation and change.
“With his appointment, we are poised to reach even greater heights in innovation and technological prowess.”
Haywood’s appointment comes as part of a recent strategic restructuring undertaken by Yggdrasil, which has resulted in a “necessary reduction” of roles within the company.
“We extend our gratitude to our departing senior leaders for their dedication and commitment to Yggdrasil,” continued Curwen. “As we navigate this transformative phase, we remain dedicated to supporting our employees through this period of change.”
Yggdrasil also confirmed that Mark McGinley will move into the role of chief product officer from his current position as chief gaming officer, where he will continue to lead the supplier’s games portfolio and Masters Studio programme.
