Playtech lauds largest tournament series on iPoker network

Playtech has hosted the largest online poker tournament series on its iPoker network with over 33,000 players taking part.
The Elite Series Winter Edition took place between 1 December and 16 January, and surpassed the previous Winter Series from last year as the largest tournament series ever held on the iPoker network.
This year’s event significantly surpassed the €7.0 million guaranteed target, collecting close to €10.0 million in total prize pool and delivering more than 800 tournaments in multiple formats.
“We are thrilled with the results delivered in our latest iPoker Elite Series Winter Edition, which was the largest and most successful series in iPoker Network history; surpassing the guaranteed prizes in multiple tournaments across the series,” said Playtech vice president of interactive gaming Marat Koss. “Engaging a global audience, our tournament series saw participation from over 33,000 players representing 92 countries.
“This event signifies a milestone in our ongoing strategic investments towards the expansion of tournament series on the iPoker networks. The success of the series is a testament to the expertise of our team and the unwavering support from our valued partners.”
The latest Elite Series Winter Edition comprised daily tournaments with buy-ins ranging from €3 to €1,000, and a total of 93 events with a €20,000 or higher guaranteed target.
The event also saw the introduction of the new Mystery Bounty alongside the regular tournament setups, with seven multi-stage Mystery Bounty events contributing €650,000 to the overall series guarantees.
Theses events witnessed the largest single entry count in iPoker history and marked the highest Mystery Bounty awarded on the iPoker network to date.
Recently, the iPoker network launched online qualifiers to the Irish Open 2024, offering players a chance to enter the €1.0 million GTD Irish Open Main Event.
The network will also host the €5.5 million GTD Bounty Hunter Series XL, which is expected to be the largest Knockout Series ever hosted on the iPoker Network and is scheduled to take place in March and April.
Shares in Playtech plc. (LSE:PTEC) were trading marginally higher at 436.40 pence per share in London Wednesday morning.
