Allied Gaming partners Wynn to bring World Poker Tour to Macau

New York-listed Allied Gaming & Entertainment (AGAE) has agreed a deal to bring the World Poker Tour (WPT) to Macau for the first time.

The inaugural WPT Macau event will take place at Wynn Macau on June 18-24, featuring a HK$40,000 buy-in Championship event and a WPT High Roller event with a buy-in of HK$200,000.

AGAE will assist in the marketing, production and management of this year’s event, as well as future planned WPT events, in conjunction with Wynn Macau.

“This marks WPT’s inaugural physical presence in Macau after over two decades of operation. As we expand our Allied Experiential Entertainment business, this collaboration represents another exciting advancement, leveraging our extensive resources and expertise in hosting world-class events to create unforgettable experiences in this dynamic market.”

WPT chief executive Adam Pliska commented: “Macau has long been a sought-after destination for us, wanting to deliver the WPT experience to the region. Thank you to AGAE and Wynn Macau for making this dream come true. We look forward to an incredible event.”

AGAE (formerly Allied Esports Entertainment) sold WPT to Pennsylvania-based investment firm Element Partners in July 2021.

Shares in Allied Gaming & Entertainment Inc (NASDAQ:AGAE) gained 2.13 per cent to close at $0.96 per share.
