LVXP plots new Las Vegas casino development

Real estate development company LVXP has announced plans for a new mixed-use development on the Las Vegas Strip.

The planned development will be located on the 27-acre site at 2601 South Las Vegas Boulevard, across from the Las Vegas Convention Center and adjacent to Fontainebleau Las Vegas.

It is expected to feature an expansive retail plaza, convention space, a destination casino, and several ultra-luxury hotels and residences. 

The site is also being billed as a potential home for a new NBA franchise.

The development will be designed by Las Vegas-based architects Steelman Partners, with LVXP bringing in Nick Tomasino, manager for the construction project of The Sphere, to serve as chief construction officer.

The site of the proposed development previously housed the Wet n Wild waterpark, which closed in 2004.
