London-listed gaming operator William Hill has announced the appointment of a new chief financial officer and chief operating officer.

William Hill has named Matt Ashley as its new CFO, replacing Ruth Prior, who stands down on 15 May following the company’s annual general meeting.

Ashley joins from London-listed transport provider National Express, where he has served since 2010 in a variety of finance roles and most recently as president and chief executive of National Express in the United States. Ashley will also serve as an executive director on the board of William Hill

His appointment follows last week’s news that CFO-designate Adrian Marsh would not be joining the company.

William Hill also announced Thursday that Flutter Entertainment integration director Stephen Parry will join the business later this year as chief operating officer.

Parry has served at Flutter Entertainment since 2017, first as managing director of Paddy Power Betfair and most recently as integration director leading the combination with The Stars Group.

“These two key appointments reinforce our focus on building a high calibre team. Matt and Stephen bring significant strengths to the company,” said William Hill chief executive Ulrik Bengtsson.

“Matt has a wealth of international financial and US experience as well as being an experienced CFO of a FTSE 250 Listed company. Stephen comes with a first-class track record of driving digital change, operational focus and customer experience in senior roles at Vodafone and Flutter. I look forward to welcoming them both to William Hill.”

Shares in William Hill plc. (LSE:WMH) were trading up 0.16 per cent at 67.24 pence per share in London early Thursday morning.
