China’s lottery market grew by 20 per cent to RMB245.20bn (€30.9bn) during the first six months of 2018 after enjoying significant growth during the month of June.
Total lottery sales in June climbed 73 per cent year-on-year to a record RMB58.63bn, with Sports Lottery sales soaring 147 per cent to RMB39.55bn thanks to the FIFA World Cup. This figure was more than double the sales generated by the Welfare Lottery, which grew 7 per cent to RMB19.08bn.
