The chairman of the SPD party in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt is calling for the state’s withdrawal from the Oddset sports betting programme operated by German lotteries.
Saxony-Anhalt SPD chairman Andreas Schmidt issued the call Friday following the release of a report into irregularities in the Oddset programme, which saw one lottery reseller in the town of Zerbst scoop almost half of the state’s winnings.
