Stats Perform snaps up SPFL and SWPL betting rights
25th September 2024 8:38 am GMTStats Perform has secured a long-term agreement with the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) and Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL) to live-stream video content to sports betting operators.
The agreement gives Stats Perform the exclusive right to distribute live audiovisual streams of the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish Women’s Premier League, as well as key games from the Scottish Championship and League One, to operators outside the United Kingdom.
The package also includes several domestic cup competitions, including the men’s League Cup, the lower tier SPFL Trust Trophy and the women’s SWPL Cup.
The streams will utilise Stat Perform’s technology and Opta data implementation to provide a more tailored experience for viewers.
“We’re delighted to add elite Scottish men’s and women’s football to our Bet LiveStreams service. The SPFL group, with SPFL and SWPL competitions, brings another heavyweight set of well-timed, high-octane football betting rights into our package. Its teams, players and historic rivalries are very popular with global fans,” said Andrew Ashenden, chief betting officer at Stats Perform.
“Football remains the world’s most followed sport and the SPFL and SWPL games sit perfectly alongside our top calibre competitions from England, Spain, Italy and many more besides, making our AI-enriched service critical to any licensed sportsbook globally that has football fans as customers.”
Neil Doncaster, group chief executive of the SPFL, commented: “We always seek the most reliable, trustworthy partners for Scottish football, who can deliver the highest quality experiences for our fans. Stats Perform’s team and technologies are trusted by top sports federations globally, as well as billions of fans.
“Their experience as pioneers of live sports streaming for licensed sportsbooks means our fans also tap into a wealth of innovation in that world. We’re excited to start working together.”
Fiona McIntyre, managing director of the SWPL, added: “The SWPL was established in 2022, as part of the SPFL group, with a view to professionalising elite women’s football in Scotland and growing revenues for the benefit of SWPL clubs.
“This new partnership represents an innovative step and another milestone for the SWPL, as it is the first partnership of its kind in respect of women’s football in Scotland. We are delighted to be working with Stats Perform.”
