Spooky Cool releases first social casino product under Zynga ownership

US social games studio Spooky Cool Labs has released its first social casino product followings its acquisition by Zynga earlier this year.
A beta version of new social slots app Hit it Rich is now live on Facebook with a range of slots including Oz – Over the Rainbow, featuring characters from the classic film The Wizard of Oz, alongside a number of titles including Mystic Maiden, Pretty Kitty and Paris Adventure.
The app also hints at future branded content to be added in the future, such as slots based on sci-fi film The Terminator and comedy Ted.
The game also comes with a High Roller Rewards system in which players accumulate experience points through playing the game and making in-app deposits, in order to gain special bonuses, special offers and exclusive content.
In a release announcing the launch, Zynga described the game as “social gaming at its finest”, giving players “an incredible time trying out each game and playing with friends.”
The Chicago-based Spooky Cool Labs was founded by Joe Kaminkow, formerly lead games developer for IGT, and was acquired by Zynga in an $18m deal in June.
