In line with the company’s strategy to develop a premium entertainment offering in the UK and eventually across Europe, Alderney-based EurosportBET has been unveiled as the Ongame Network’s newest partner operator, as the company looks to add poker to its recently launched online sports betting service.
EurosportBET will implement the P5 Poker Engine, the latest edition of Ongame Network’s online poker software platform, with the service being rolled out later this month aimed at the competitive UK market.
“This new partnership showcases the full potential of the P5 Poker Engine and marks the beginning of a new working relationship between Ongame Network and EurosportBET,” said Martin Lerby, Head of Ongame Network.
“We believe that online poker is an entertainment product and attracting mass-market brands such as Eurosport is part of our strategy.”
As previously reported by Gaming Intelligence earlier this year, Eurosport, a subsidiary of leading French television network TF1, joined forces with investment fund Serendipity to develop a betting platform capable of competing with established sports betting operators in the soon-to-be liberalised French gambling market.
“We select business partners who share the same values of working within national online gaming laws. Ongame Network is such a company,” said Olivier Ou Ramdane, CEO of SPS, the Eurosport Serendipity joint venture.
“The implementation of the P5 Poker Engine has been smoothly managed and we look forward to our UK online poker service taking off, giving us a foundation for future European projects.
A subsidiary of the Eurosport Serendipity joint venture, SPS Betting (Alderney) Ltd, was awarded a remote gambling licence by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission earlier this year in March, paving the way for the launch of EurosportsBET.co.uk in the British market.
