Gibraltar-based game development platform provider Odobo has secured a games distribution deal with Betfair which will see the UK-listed online gaming operator gaining access to all 23 games currently live in the Odobo Marketplace.

Betfair becomes the second operator to sign up for Odobo's portfolio of HTML5 games, after bet365 launched with the platform provider in the final quarter of last year.

Odobo said that the deal represents a "significant milestone" for the company and its development community, with the agreement opening up a new distribution platform for Betfair's customers.

The company added that it also expects to announce further distribution opportunities with other leading gaming operators in the near future.

Odobo's chief business affairs officer Julian Jarvis said: “Odobo provides leading operators like Betfair with a powerful new way to engage with game developers and bring engaging new content to their players. We are delighted to have Betfair adopting our unique model - one that supports key stakeholders in the industry from game concept through to end user.

"This deal also represents a significant increase in the distribution opportunity we offer our approved developers.”

Betfair will immediately gain access to the 23 games currently live in the Odobo Marketplace, along with a set of exclusive games commissioned from Odobo’s approved developers to coincide with the FIFA World Cup. The operator is expected to launch the first wave of games from the Odobo Marketplace in the coming weeks.

Games currently available include Castle Builder, Rockstar Riches and Amazing Circus among others.

Betfair will also have access to the more than 60 additional titles expected to be available in the Odobo Marketplace before the end of this year.

More than 20 studios are currently developing innovative content using Odobo’s suite of development tools that includes the Game Development Kit (GDK). These include the likes of Probability Jones, Trimark Gaming, Rabcat, and AppleJack Gaming among others.
