Genius Sports Group has officially launched following the merger of Australia’s SportingPulse and Betgenius, with the business aiming to become a leading sports data and betting solution provider.
The merger of the companies creates a business that employs more than 750 staff in 10 locations worldwide.
It has combined SportingPulse, a pioneer in sports administration and management software and basketball data collection, and Betgenius, a company founded in 1999 that supplies sportsbook management and data-driven marketing services, as well as pre-match and in-play odds.
In October last year Betgenius restructured and rebranded as Genius Sports Group, with Betgenius becoming a subsidiary of the company offering B2B sports betting solutions. A second division focuses on data and integrity solutions, including its Sports Integrity Monitor product.
It believes it is positioned to become a leader in developing and supplying data-driven solutions to sports, media and regulated betting markets.
“The merger of these two pioneering companies from recognised world-leading countries sports betting, is a perfect match and creates a global full service sports technology and data business, ready to exploit the multi-billion dollar opportunities opening up in the US, China and India,” Betgenius co-founder and Genius Sports Group CEO Mark Locke said.
