China lottery sales fall to €4.54bn in November

China’s lottery market dipped in November as total sales fell by 5 per cent year-on-year to RMB36.04bn (€4.54bn).

Having recorded an 11.5 per cent increase in sales in October, total lottery sales declined in November as Sports Lottery sales fell by 0.2 per cent to RMB21.03bn and Welfare Lottery sales decreased by 10 per cent to RMB15.02bn.

Compared to the same period last year, a total of 14 Chinese provinces grew lottery sales in November, including Guangdong, Xinjiang and Guizhou.

For the first eleven months of 2020, total lottery sales were down 22 per cent at RMB297.44bn, comprising a 19 per cent decline in Sports Lottery sales to RMB168.22bn and a 25 per cent decline in Welfare Lottery sales to RMB129.22bn.
