Wagering on US horse racing dropped by 11 per cent to $926.9 million in April, as there was one fewer weekend in the month compared with 2023.
According to data from Equibase, the number of race days in April was 4 per cent lower than 2023 at 269, with the number of races run in the month down 5 per cent at 2,245.
