Australia's New South Wales (NSW) has become the state in the country to ban greyhound racing, with leading betting operator Tabcorp warning that it will need to source alternative racing coverage to plug a 5 per cent gap in its revenue as a result.
NSW has taken the decision after a Special Commission of Inquiry found “overwhelming evidence of systemic animal cruelty, including mass greyhound killings and live baiting.”
