The Netherlands government has withdrawn the bill that would have ended the state monopoly on casino gaming and privatised Holland Casino.
Privatisation of the state-owned casino business has been mooted since 2012, with a bill to this effect adopted by the House of Representatives in January 2017.
However, it has since faced opposition in the Senate, with lawmakers expressing concerns about the gaming act modernisation bill coinciding with the remote gambling bill that would legalise online gaming.
