Finnish iGaming platform provider Finnplay has been granted a sports betting licence by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA).

The Type 2 licence approval allows Finnplay to provide sports betting solutions to licensed operators in the country via its partnership with Malta-based sportsbook technology provider Altenar.

“Betting is the highest growth area of the iGaming market, so achieving the MGA Type 2 licence is a great accomplishment that will enable Finnplay to offer market-leading betting games and integrations to all our brand and platform partners,” said Finnplay Group chief executive Martin Prantner.

Altenar CEO Stanislav Silin added: “Finnplay is a long-standing partner and customer of Altenar, and we are delighted to be given the opportunity to provide sports betting services to this rapidly growing technology company and their customers in the new territories that are now accessible via this MGA vertical acquisition.”
