Gaming and lotteries technology provider GTECH has made an £18m bid to acquire London-listed mobile gaming operator Probability plc.

The agreement will see GTECH acquire  the entire issued and to be issued share capital of Probability, with shareholders representing 54.8 per cent of the issued share capital of the company already committed to voting in favour of the proposal.

GTECH said that it sees a high level capability in mobile as being of strategic importance across the group, as demands from its customers for mobile solutions expand and become increasingly complex.

The acquisition of Probability will enable it to quickly create and launch games on multiple devices and in numerous regulated jurisdictions, the company added.
