William Hill has launched a dedicated in-play betting app for darts to coincide with the beginning of this year’s Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) world championship, an event sponsored by the operator.

The William Hill Darts app is live in Apple’s App Store and includes features such as live match simulation from all major PDC and British Darts Organisation (BDO) events, as well as player statistics and results.

It also offers up to 26 betting markets per match, including leg winner; highest checkout; under/over; red/green; the number of 180’s, or the correct score.

“We’re really excited about the start of the William Hill World Darts Championship and the launch of our new darts app,” William Hill director of innovation and customer experience Jamie Hart commented. “I think we’ve hit the bullseye with this app and believe it will be a massive hit with darts fans.”

The tournament began on Thursday with a number of high-profile players such as current world champion Michael van Gerwen and Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor participating, and will conclude on January 4th.

William Hill was named the new sponsor of the PDC World Darts Championship in April this year, paying a seven-figure sum and agreeing a two-year deal that sees the event renamed the William Hill World Darts Tournament.

The event was previously sponsored by Ladbrokes, which had worked with the PDC since 2000.
