The annual player participation survey commissioned by Swedish gambling regulator Lotteriinspektionen has highlighted a steady decline in gambling participation rates across the country.
The survey is based on online interviews with 1,044 adults and shows that 66 per cent of respondents had gambled in the past year.
This represents a decline of 2 per cent versus 2016 and a fall of 5 per cent versus the peak in 2014, when 71 per cent said they had gambled.
