Iowa’s leading land-based gaming operator, Prairie Meadows Racetrack & Casino, has announced the planned retirement of president and CEO Gary Palmer.

He will be replaced as president and CEO by Brian Ohorilko, effective 1 January 2026.
Ohorilko boasts extensive gaming and racing industry experience, having served for 20 years at the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission, including 12 years as administrator.
“Brian is well-positioned to lead Prairie Meadows into its next chapter,” said Prairie Meadows in a statement. “His commitment to maintaining our status as one of Iowa’s premier gaming destinations, along with our focus on community support through charitable initiatives, is truly inspiring.”
