Shoutz, the Texas-based lottery and gaming solutions provider, has appointed Atul Bali as chairman of its social lottery platform business GameRail Entertainment.
Bali boasts a twenty-year career in the gaming industry, currently serving as deputy chairman of London-listed Gaming Realms, as well as president and chief executive of Blastworks. Blastworks, created from RealNetworks' GameHouse social casino division, is GameRail's main technology supplier.
He previously served as president of RealNetworks' games division, president and chief executive of Aristocrat Leisure's Americas business, and led GTECH's (now International Game Technology) GTECH G2 interactive business.
Launched on May 10, GameRail is a free-to-play social-lottery platform which features technology and gaming content from Blastworks, including more than 50 free-to-play games based on slots, card games, bingo and instant wins. A dedicated mobile app is scheduled for release later this year.
Shoutz CEO and GameRail board member Jim Mueller commented: "GameRail is extremely fortunate to have an executive of Atul’s calibre guiding the company’s strategic and corporate development efforts.
"Atul is a world-class executive, deeply experienced in the gaming sector and will bring sharp focus and elite standards to our marketing, consumer engagement and business development efforts," he explained.
"GameRail has the opportunity to position itself as a premier gaming platform, engaging two massive global audiences — the smart phone generation and the lottery player," added Bali.
"I’m looking forward to leveraging the shared expertise of Blastworks and Gaming Realms with Shoutz, a lottery marketing and technology leader, and positioning GameRail to engage the 120 million lottery players in the United States, by offering top-quality games of chance."
