US gaming operator Jacobs Entertainment has entered into an agreement to launch a new online and retail sportsbook in Colorado with Las Vegas-based sports betting operator SuperBook.

Subject to approval from the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission, SuperBook will power an online and on-site sportsbook at Jacobs Entertainment’s The Lodge Casino in Black Hawk, featuring wagering on a range of contests including all major championships and daily props in local markets.

SuperBook currently operates a retail sportsbook at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, as well as a mobile betting app across the state of Nevada. Its partnership with Jacobs Entertainment will be the first time the SuperBook brand has been expanded outside of Las Vegas.

“We believe The Lodge is a perfect fit for our initial expansion opportunities outside Las Vegas,” said SuperBook executive vice president of race and sports book operations Jay Kornegay. “We have maintained the highest levels of technology and service in a highly-regulated industry. We have written the playbook on sports betting in the United States, and now we will put it in action in Colorado.”

The Lodge Casino was one of the first venues in the state to be approved for a temporary master licence earlier this month. The state regulator’s meeting this week is expected to see temporary operator licences issued to SuperBook, as well as Churchill Downs Incorporated’s BetAmerica and Betfred Sports.

Jacobs Entertainment also operates The Gilpin Casino in Black Hawk, Gold Dust West properties in Reno, Carson City and Elko in Nevada, as well as 25 Cash Magic truck plazas throughout Louisiana.

Earlier this year the operator signed a ten-year licensing agreement to allow theScore to offer online and mobile sports betting in Colorado, which remains subject to license approval.
