Lithuania’s regulated gambling market contracted by 2.76 per cent in the first quarter of 2020, as growth in online gaming failed to offset the fall in revenue from retail gaming outlets that were closed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Land-based gambling venues in Lithuania were closed on March 16, resulting in a 20.88 per cent fall in first-quarter stakes to €94.3m and a 22.29 per cent fall in net gaming revenue to €14.1m.
