International Game Technology (IGT) has agreed a contract extension to continue supplying the UK National Lottery’s core lottery system ahead of the switchover to Scientific Games’ platform.
The extension sees IGT support the lottery’s operation until Allwyn’s technology transformation program is complete.
“We are pleased to continue to support the operation of The National Lottery, working alongside a range of other suppliers and Allwyn,” said IGT chief operating officer of global lottery Jay Gendron.
The UK National Lottery will be officially operated by Allwyn under the Fourth National Lottery licence from 1 February.
With Allwyn ending Camelot’s 28 years’ operation of the UK national lottery, Scientific Games is currently preparing for the official changeover in February with a multi-phase launch beginning with instant ticket services and new platforms early in the year, followed by the implementation of its systems technology in the latter half of the year.
Last week IGT ended its claim for damages in relation to the Fourth National Lottery licence.
Shares in International Game Technology plc (NYSE:IGT) closed 0.39 per cent lower at $25.68 per share in New York Wednesday.
