IGT-powered Ithuba Holdings has concluded a deal to secure South Africa’s third National Lottery licence after the original licence agreement was set aside by a judge over concerns that it did not comply with the country’s lottery laws.
Robin Davies, Minister for Trade and Industry, had selected Ithuba as the recipient in November 2014 but the original agreement was scrapped after a legal challenge from the previous licence holder and rival bidder Gidani.
