fuboTV bags exclusive English Premier League rights in Canada

New York-listed live TV streaming platform fuboTV has secured the exclusive streaming rights to England’s Premier League in Canada beginning with the 2022/23 season.

fuboTV will be the exclusive home of the Premier League in the Canadian market for the next three seasons beginning in August 2022, carrying all 380 Premier League matches each season and shoulder programming on its growing Canadian platform through the 2024/2025 season.

All content will stream live on fuboTV and the Fubo Sports Network.

“The Premier League is considered to be the best soccer league in the world and has a huge fan base in Canada,” said fuboTV co-founder and CEO David Gandler. “This deal allows us to bring yet another top-notch property to fuboTV, further differentiating our content offering, and giving Canadians another reason to cut the cord for exciting, exclusive sports content.”

The deal comes just months after fuboTV secured the exclusive Italian Serie A and Coppa Italia rights.

Shares in FuboTV Inc (NYSE:FUBO) closed 7.17 per cent lower at $13.60 per share in New York Thursday.
