Scientific Games has completed the rollout of its self-service terminals at a number of lottery retailers across Iowa.
The supplier’s PlayCentral terminals have been combined with its SCiQ retail ecosystem to streamline lottery product management and provide real-time data analytics to retailers and the Iowa Lottery.
The rollout forms part of an overall plan to modernize the lottery product category in stores for players and retailers.
“SCiQ is revolutionizing how lottery products are managed at retail by delivering both tactical and strategic analytics,” said Mike Cardell, Scientific Games’ senior vice president of Americas systems. “We’ve incorporated all of SCiQ’s benefits within our industry-leading PlayCentral self-service machines.
“It’s not only a win-win for the entire retail ecosystem, but for the player experience as well. And we commend the Iowa Lottery for its innovative approach to continually modernize with new technology.”
According to Scientific Games, more than 79 per cent of US consumers regularly used self-service terminals in retail stores last year.
More than 14,000 PlayCentral terminals are currently deployed in 13 North American jurisdictions, of which more than 8,000 terminals feature SCiQ technology, with additional rollouts planned in the US and internationally this year.
